Updates and Upcoming Events!

Evening Everyone!

Just wanted to let everyone know of some new things going on here at the blog as well as what you can look forward to!

First off I would like to welcome my good friend HRH Inc (even though for now most visitors are friends I am still going to keep all authors under aliases. If they choose to use their real name its all up to them) as our first addition Author to Smitty's Nerd Hub. HRH will be providing us with occasional news updates as well as other future articles as we plan them out in the future. He should be a very entertaining addition to the site.


Next we will soon be welcoming Sack to our team of Authors here at The Hub. He will be providing us with an ongoing series of reviews of terrible movies. Films that test your fortitude to be able to sit and watch. He will also be contributing to the Overrated Column with his own updates.


Now lets talk about upcoming events shall we!

Our first game review will more then likely be in February with Marvel vs Capcom 3. With myself being on a limited budget and nothing really popping out at me in January there won't be much to review. Though any other authors that pick up new titles are welcome to post their opinions on these games.

Our next film review is more then likely going to be The Green Hornet. Movie reviews will more then likely happen more frequently then game reviews mainly because I am a bit bigger or a movie buff then I am a game nerd now a days.

Overrated will have a new segment once to twice a month. Our next Overrated article will be about the Final Fantasy series. For this we will more then likely to a panel style video that I will post on You Tube and then throw it up on here. I do know when sack joins us he also plans to do an Overrated article about the original Batman film starring Michael Keaton. Should be a good article and one to spark some fanboy debate i feel.

We will also be looking into doing editorials on two terrible series of films. Friedberg and Seltzer films (Epic/Date/Disaster Movies) and Uwe Boll films. Right now I am thinking each author (how ever many we have when we begin) will each get a film from each series, watch it, and write up throughts and jabs of the films that will hopefully provide you some entertainment. Our Misery is your hilarity.

In addition to movie reviews we will also be doing a little This or That. some weeks when there are multiple big films releasing at the same time we will sit down and watch both and provide a dual review letting you know which one we think is the better film.

Another for the "My pain is your enjoyment" category is I will be starting a 7 week article based on the effectiveness of motion video games advertised to help you get in shape. My target game will be EA Sports Active: NFL Combine. I will put myself through its 60 day combine training to see if it actually does what they say and get me in better shape. This will be done in weekly videos where I will report my opinion of the activities as well as montor body weight to see just how much it's actually working.

In May we will be doing our first coverage of a convention! Digital Overload will be coming to the Baltimore Convention Center and I felt this will be a good way for the site to go and check the event out, see what they offer, and report for the 3 days so for those of you at home missing out but curious as to what is there. This way you have a good idea if 2012 is a good year to go and attend.

In between all this I will continue my best efforts to keep this site filled with content so that you can recommend it to YOUR friends and they can find something new and hopefully entertaining to read. I hope you are as excited for this ongoing project as I am! (probably not but just keep reading)
