Djamgo Unchained

Djamgo Unchained what is it not sure entirely but apparently its writer/director Quentin Tarentino's next project. This is basically his tip of the hat to the old Spaghetti Westerns. The actor who is at the top of his list to play the role of the title character.....Will Smith.

That's right he wants Agent J to play the lead in his movie. You know who else has been linked to this movie. Well the usual suspects in a Tarantino movie i.e. Christoph Waltz who will be playing the role of a Germain Bounty hunter, and Sam Jackson who will be playing the role of the house servant of the main antagonist
Monsieur Calvin Candie who doesn't have an actor yet.

The basis of the movie is Djamgo(Will Smith) who is a freed slave seeks to reunite with his wife and teams up and gets training from the German Bounty to take down the evil plantation owner.

Variety is reporting
somewhat contradictorily report that Smith HAS been informally offered the role and is interested, apparently willing to forgo his usual mammoth fee too. They also say that both Bradd Pitt and Leonardo Dicaprio turned down roles in the movie.

No news on when it will be released or when filming will begin. All that is known is that the last draft was dated April 26 2011.

Michael Clark Duncan in talks to be Kilowog

About a month ago I had put up a post about Dennis Haysbert being Kilowog according to IMDB.
Today the Latino Review is reporting that Michael Clark Duncan is in talks to voice the Drill Sergeant of the Green Lantern Corps. This would be a dream come true because I have been hoping and praying that MCD(or John Goodman) would voice Kilowog since the movie was first announced. Me and Al Gore are going to celebrate this right now but however I will report back when it is finally confirmed that MCD will be voicing the Wog.

Damn you Fox

According to Variety's Rachel Abrams, 20th Century Fox has tapped 30 Days of Night director David Slade, to helm a "continuation" flick for Marvel's man without fear, Daredevil. Apparently, not being considered a reboot, the report says:

David Slade ("30 Days of Night") is set to direct the next "Daredevil" movie for 20th Century Fox. Slade, who had been in talks to direct Wolverine before losing the gig to Darren Aronofsky, is tasked with taking the film in a different direction from the 2003 "Daredevil" starring Ben Affleck, but is being described as a continuation of the story, not a reboot.

What this also means is Fox has officially blocked Marvel and Disney in regaining to rights to develop their own Daredevil movie.

As for who would play ole hornhead Jason Statham had expressed interest in appearing as Daredevil in the future. But of course, that's just speculation

Dennis Haysbert is the voice of Kilowog?

So its been bugging me for a long time wondering who the voice of Kilowog maybe and had been paying close attention to those reports. Then i look at IMDB and see Dennis Haysbert's name side by side by Kilowog.

This is kind of sweet because Dennis Haysbert also voiced Kilowog in the Justice League cartoon. He also played major roles in the CBS show The Unit, Fox's 24, and was Pedro Cerrano in the classic Major League series.

Kilowog is a major piece to the Green Lantern mythos as he has been for many years the primary trainer of all Green Lanterns that have come through the corp including Hal Jordan(Ryan Reynolds).

Now even though I found this on IMDB I am not sure if this i credible enough to believe. Also to note Kilowog was named Haysbert Kilowog which leads me to want to believe that this is not true.

Son of Jor-El kneel before Viggo Mortensen.

According to the Hollywood Reporter Snyder and Nolan are eyeing Viggo Mortensen to play Zod. This would be awesome since Snyder has been reported to wanting to do a Superman movie where the villain and Superman can have an all out brawl.

This would also might confirm a report I posted earlier about Ursa who is a Lieutenant of Zod's set to appear in the Superman Reboot.

For those who don't know General Zod in comics was in charge of the military forces on Krypton and was introduced in Adventure Comics 283# in April 1961. Then was featured in Richard Donner's Superman:The Movie(1978) and Superman II(1980) portrayed by actor Terrence Stamp as a pathologically arrogant and pompous aristocrat, almost bored with his incredible powers and disappointed with the ease of overtaking.

Michael Ironside to be recorded as Krona?

To be fair I adore character actor Michael Ironside. He was in Total Recall, Major Payne, Starship Troopers, he voiced Darkseid in the DCU animated series(starting with Superman), and he is the voice of Sam Fisher from the Splinter Cell series and so many other things here and there.

I stumbled upon the article on www.comicbookmovies.com and saw this headline."Michael Ironside To Voice Krona In 'Green Lantern'"? When i saw that I literally jumped out of my chair. Then I had to double check the article and make sure they were referring to the Emerald Knights which is the next DCU animated project. But there it was the said the real Green Lantern Movie and to be voicing Krona.

Now that is done lets have a background check on who Krona is. Krona is an old Guardian an i emphasize old we are probably talking before the Manhunters(not going to get off track and explain them) and before the Guardians were blue midgets. He was a scientist who wished to see how the world came into existence. However he ended up creating the Multi-verse, the Anti-Matter universe, and both the Monitor and the Anti-Monitor. Currently in comics Krona has resurface in midget form and had been rounding up the entities the make up the different Lantern Corps.

In the Movie he is apparently going to be set as the first host for the Parralax entity.

Brett Ratner + Shad Gaspard + Youngblood = Disaster

Lets start at the top.

Brett Ratner that name should ring a bell mainly because he is the bane of all nerds and I believe will eventually make it to Captain Sacks worn out welcome list. He made his commercial success with as the director of Rush Hour then had the gall to follow it up 2 more times plus that god awful Xmen Last Stand. Now helming the direction of the upcoming Youngblood movie.

Shad Gaspard former bodyguard of Sean (don't know what my name is anymore ) Combs, Cuba Gooding Jr and Mike Tyson and then turned wrestler (as you people know we here the the Digital Daily Fix are admirers or wrestling) was offered an audition to play the role of the character Chapel. He was primarily features in a tag team with JTG(who for the time being is still employed by WWE) called Cryme Tyme.

Chapel aka Bruce Stinson was a member of Youngblood who has switched sides on multiple occasions from good to bad on a few occasions is basically a mercenary on the team.

Youngblood was written and drawn the ever controversial Rob Leifield in 1992 and was the first ever book published under Image. Image was a comic company formed in the early 90s by many creators that had left Marvel Comics and was unique since all the books published were creator owned and not owned by the company.

But i digress in the words of Michael Scott.

Kevin Costner appears to keep getting work.

Kevin Costner's name has come up for a role in Zack Snyders Superman reboot. As to what role he would be playing is uncertain. Given his age it could either be Perry White the Editor of the Daily Planet or Jonathan Kent Superman's adopted Earth father. However you look at it Costner has a wide enough range that he could be playing any number of characters. Imo Kevin Costner doesn't come off as a cigar chomper enough to suitable for Perry White. He does however fit the mold for Pa Kent very well which is the direction i think he will be going.

More than Kryptonite Endangers Superman.

According to the Vulture the Script for the new Superman suffers major third act problems. Not only that but apparently Warner Bros wants to get this film out as soon as possible because if they are not in production by 2013 the entire franchise will need to re-licensed by the original creators. I.E. the Siegal and Schuster families who are already in a bloody copyright war with DC.

Has Talia been casted in DKR?

So I just heard the Marion Cotillard has been casted in the Dark Knight Returns.

This would make the I guess if we are really keeping track the 6th person who was in Inception(predating it) that would be casted in Nolan's Batmen series. Now as to weather she has been casted to be Talia has yet to be revealed but here is hoping for dare I say it a catfight between her and Anne Hathaway.

As news comes in I can only hope that Dileep Rao will be casted next as Ubu.

Ironman 3's next director?

With the departure of Jon Favreau weather it was due to Marvel being frugal and not wanting to buy Favreau's directing price tag or that he wanted to do that Magic Kingdom movie for Disney(kinda ironic i would say) or the rumor that he and Robert Downey Jr. may have had a falling out on the set of Ironman 2. The big question now is who will take the reigns of the next Ironman have come up.

First to step to plate is a man by the name of Shane Black. Shane Black may not be know as a director even though he has directed "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" and had been connected to the American adaptation of "Death Note". He does have the writing chops having written favorites "Leathal Weapon" 1 and 2, "Monster Squad" and "Last Action".

This may be Robert Downey Jr's suggestion to Marvel since he has worked with Black on Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Not to mention when Downey won the role of Tony Stark he went to Black on ideas on how to be Tony Stark. Then recently on the direction on where Ironman should go.

Marvel of course will look at others to direct Black but he would be the favorite for the gig.

Rumor: Lindsay Lohan up for a major female role in Superman

So everything seemed to being going right with the Superman Reboot. Christopher Nolan writing the story bring in David Goyer to do the screen play. Then getting Zack Snyder to direct Superman. Then things got better when they got Henry Cavil to be big blue.

Then today found a Rumor the Lindsay Lohan may be up for a major female role. Fortunately the rumor is that its not Lois Lane. But i digress as for what role she would be i have no clue. Take it for a grain of salt especially since she still has to deal with that grand theft charge stemming from her slightly having stolen a $2,500 necklace.

May be related to another Rumor of Zack Snyder looking for someone to play Ursa.

Ursa is a lieutenant of General Zod and was first portrayed in Richard Donner's 1978 "Superman" movie but more prominently in "Superman II".

She didn't appear in comics until Action Comics #845(Jan 07) where her character is similar to that in the movie but more of a lover of Zod.

But when i think of Lindsay Lohan i think of Family Guy.

Maria Hill may have been cast in the Avengers movie

According to The Hollywood Reporter Colbie Smulders most notably known as Robin Scherbatsky from CBS' "How I Met Your Mother" is in final talks to play the role of Maria Hill.

For those who don't know Maria Hill first appeared in New Avengers 4# as the New director director of S.H.I.E.L.D when Nick Fury went underground due to the Secret Wars fiasco. In the movie Maria Hill would be nothing more than Nick Fury's(Samuel L. Jackson) right hand(or i guess left hand since Black Widow is the right hand) woman. Currently in comics Maria Hill is the liaison inbetween the prime Avengers team and the current S.H.I.E.L.D director Steve Rogers aka Captain America.

Colbie Smulders would also be joining a cast that already includes Robert Downey Jr.(Tony Stark), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton), Kevin Pennington(undisclosed), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), and Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson), with Joss Whedon assembling The Avengers in theaters May 4, 2012.

RUMOR: Yvonne Strahovski Cast As Ms. Marvel In The Avengers?

New and more Avengers news and rumor that Chuck star Yvonne Strahovski has been chosen to be Carol Danvers aka Ms Marvel in next summers The Avengers...

According to www.strahotski.com, one of the top fan sites for the Chuck star, have apparently been sent a scoop revealing that she's going to be cast in the role by Marvel Studios! She also did the voice and upon further review provided her likeness of Miranda Lawson from Mass Effect 2.
For those who may not know Ms. Marvel is one of Marvel’s older comic book characters, debuting all the way back in 1968 (though she didn’t get her superpowers until 1977). Her alter ego is Carol Danvers, an officer in the United States Air Force. Her super powers have included super strength, super agility, precognition, and flight.

However this is nothing more than just a rumor and shouldn’t be taken seriously until an official word from Marvel Studios is made.

The Avengers is set to be released on May 4, 2012!
