Weekend Box Office April 1st - April 3rd

A decent weekend box office that saw all 3 new films debut in the top 3 and some strong numbers to boot. While 3 rise, others begin to stumble down the hill towards box office mediocrity.

  1. Hop: $38.1 Million *OPENING WEEKEND*
  2. Source Code: $15 Million *OPENING WEEKEND*
  3. Insidious: $13.4 Million *OPENING WEEKEND*
  4. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules: $10.2 Million, with $38.3 Million Overall
  5. Limitless: $9.4 Million, with $55.6 Million Overall
  6. The Lincoln Lawyer: $7 Million, with $39.6 Million Overall
  7. Sucker Punch: $6 Million, with $29.8 Million Overall
  8. Rango: $4.5 Million, with $113 Million Overall
  9. Paul: $4 Million, with $31.9 Million Overall
  10. Battle: Los Angeles: $3.5 Million, with $78.4 Million Overall

Like I said a decent weekend with Hop cleaning up pretty well as it's weekend total almost eclipsed the combined total of 4 movies in the top 10. Sucker Punch is continuing to fall and could be out of the top 10 next weekend. This coming weekend has 3 more releases as we get set for Your Highness starring Danny McBride Kenny Powers and Natalie Portman in a medieval comedy. Hanna is a violent action film starring Eric Bana and Saoirse Ronan as a father and daughter who are trained killers with Hanna (Ronan) going out into the world on her own for the first time. Finally we have the remake of Arthur starring Russell Brand as Arthur Bach, child like billionaire who is about to learn a lesson in life after his crazy living goes wrong.

I really look forward to Hanna and Your Highness looks like it could be really good... or terrible.. time will tell.
