Weekend Box Office March 11th - 13th

Another weekend and another strong box office showing with more big releases putting butts in seats. Looking at the releases for the rest of the month it seems like March will be a redeeming month for theaters.

So without further adieu lets get to this week's top 10

  1. Battle: Los Angeles: $36 Million Dollars *OPENING WEEKEND*
  2. Rango: $28 Million, with $68.6 Million Overall
  3. Red Riding Hood: $14.1 Million Dollars *OPENING WEEKEND*
  4. The Adjustment Bureau: $11.4 Million, with $38.4 Million Overall
  5. Mars Needs Moms: $6.8 Million Dollars *OPENING WEEKEND*
  6. Hall Pass: $5.1 Million, with $34.9 Million Overall
  7. Beastly: $5 Million, with $16.9 Million Overall
  8. Just Go With It: $4 Million, with $93.9 Million Overall
  9. The King's Speech: $3.6 Million, with $129 Million Overall
  10. Gnomeo & Juliet: $3.5 Million, with $89 Million Overall

A nice strong opening for Battle: Los Angeles as well as Rango having only taking in 10 Million less then it did it's opening weekend. Mars Needs Moms surprisingly didn't impress given it was a disney film and Red Riding Hood even got in the top 3. Next week we get 3 more new releases in Limitless starring Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper about the pill that lets you use all your brain. The Lincoln Lawyer with Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Philippe where Mc plays a low time criminal defense lawyer who lands the case of a lifetime when he has to defend Philippe (a rich Beverly Hills playboy) in a murder case. Finally we get Paul, the alien film starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as they find an alien voiced by Seth Rogen. I expect another big weekend as we move closer to the big summer movie season!
