Digital Daily Fix Invades New York!

Last night we went down to the Big Apple to see what the 3DS launch event in Union Square was all about. I recorded some videos (sorry in advance for the terrible camera work) and got them here for your pleasure. I have also begun work on an overall review for the 3DS now that I have mine.

Our day began a little after 3 when we departed. We made good time getting to Delaware in a little over a half hour though a bathroom break and some traffic slowed us down. We decided our approach to New Jersey was a good time for our first video update!

After that we made our way through the rancid smelling home of Snookie (seriously for most of the time we went through Jersey it fucking smelled awful) we had mostly smooth sailing until we finally hit the Lincoln Tunnel. I think Helmick (Captain Sack) jinxed us when he said this was the least amount of traffic he had seen leading to the tunnel because it quickly went to hell from there. That really is the worst constructed tunnel I have ever seen.

We ended up parking in a hotel parking lot that was pretty much in the middle of Time Square and Union Square. After we trucked on over to Best Buy we got into the event which was set up on the street outside the store.

They had demo kiosks set up along with plenty of free food and drink. Despite the cold it was a well put together event. I realized my first video upon arrival was a bit shitty so I attempted a better look at the event itself.

Once we were there for a while and tried out all the games Reggie Fils-Aime arrived and greeted the fans. The phone tilts away from him because I was shaking his hand.

Closer to midnight he came on stage and spoke about the system. I tried to get footage but I could not get close enough and also security was moving me further away. Near midnight they got people lined up that were purchasing systems and we found out since we were not buying anything and did not have an official media badge then we would not be able to go in and film people picking up their systems. So we headed back to record our wrap up of the event which will go up shortly. Hopefully we can do more things like this and bring it to you (with better video >.>).
