Our Previous Weekly Discussions focused on deeper topics about the gaming industry and looks ahead. This week will be a little different, and lighter in topic. What games in your opinion need a sequel or a remake? Maybe a franchise needs a desperate reboot now that it's completely stale or maybe you played a game, loved the hell out of it, and felt it never got the sequel it rightfully deserved.
For me that game is Final Fantasy Tactics. I find it ironic that I am asking for a sequel to a Final Fantasy game when we are going to be pretty much tearing into the series this weekend but Tactics was truly my favorite Final Fantasy. Fuck the GBA and DS sequels as they were total garbage. I am not looking for Square Enix to re-invent the wheel. Don't give me unnecessary add ons like laws and other bullshit, just give me a god damn sequel. Put your best teams on it, put the game on a console and give me another installment with new jobs and everything. I remember having played the first Tactics on Playstation over, and over, and over again. It's because of FF: Tactics that I follow most Strategy RPGs in the first place. Would I have looked into Disgaea if I hadn't played Tactics? I don't know, what I do know is for years now I go back to that game because nothing in my eyes has truly surpassed out much fun it is. Learning jobs and strategic battles that were great times.
Don't give me a fucking snowball battle! or send me to jail for using my weapon! Take Tactics, make it pretty (because it's the one thing you still do well) give me classes that change the experience and let me play my damn game! It's the one franchise I always have felt was not given it's justice. Do it SE! what the hell else do you have going for you anyway?
