Nintendo 3DS Confirmed Battery Life (and You're Probably Not Gonna Like It)

So this weekend Nintendo is having an event in Japan to announce their launch plans for their native country for the Nintendo 3DS. That really doesn't mean a damn thing to us except one of the things they announced was the official battery life for the handheld. Now Nintendo has always been known for having strong battery lives out of their handhelds (hell the DSi clocks in at about 17 hours per charge) but it seems technology has finally caught up to Nintendo's advancements. The 3DS is said to have 3-5 hours of battery life for 3DS games and 5 - 8 for DS games. This is a significant step back from what we are used to but if you take a look at the technology this thing is packing (2 screens both 3D capable, graphics comparable to a GameCube or Wii) it's understandable. Just means we gotta wait for their first remake of the handheld before we start seeing big leaps in life. At least we get a charging station as opposed to just some charge cord right?....Right?
