Fantastic 3: Flame Extinguished

Today is the release of Fantastic Four #587 which finally reveals the long hyped plotline Marvel has been advertising for their first family for months, who's gonna die? I'm sure you knew by the title of the article but if not here you go!

Johnny Storm will fall in this issue battling an insectoid army that is trying to escape the negative zone. This storyline has been hyped for a while and the death of this major character is the reshaping of the super hero team that will continue on in their new series. The following issue (FF #588) will be the final issue in the Fantastic Four series that has been running since 1961. Coverage of this story has been all over the place as FF has been one of Marvel's longest running franchises. We usually don't cover comics but with a story as big as this it's hard to ignore. It's the end of a legacy and the beginning of something that Marvel has apparently had in the works for a long time. It will be interesting to see where this goes from here.
